What does academic writing mean to me?
Academic writing is an intellectual exercise aimed at broadening the dimensions of understanding of a given topic(s) in an academic discipline by the sheer force of new insights and arguments. While it is essentially an act of thinking and giving an academic platform to the thought process of a writer, it can also mean a basic life skill to be learnt by every student or researcher. It can be said that academic writing is a life skill, and by extension, it paves way for the interplay of thinking, and powerful ideas; it also initiates a healthy interaction with the reader, and tackles valid arguments productively surrounding the topic.
